MBBS In Egypt :- The modern history of egyptian medical education begins in 1827. Its curriculum development process was guided by the recommendations of the national symposium on innovation in medical education held in Al-Fayoum, southeast of Cairo, at the beginning of that year.
Currently, admission to Egyptian higher education institutions, including medical schools, is managed centrally by a national coordination office. The male to female ratio for admission and graduation is almost balanced, with an average of 10,000 physicians graduating annually from Egyptian medical schools. To date, Egyptian medical schools have followed the British model, comprising a five year program of undergraduate medical education.

A Bachelor Of Medicine and Surgery( MBBCh) is awarded upon graduation, but graduates must attend 2 year internship program before obtaining their license to practice as general practitioners. Almost all medical schools in Egypt have well-established teaching hospitals, and the most confine and clinical training of students to these hospitals.

Ain Shams University
Ain Shams University was founded in 1950 and located in Egypt. The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate prams and has seven campus locations. Four are located in Alabassiya, two in Heliopolis and one in Shubra Elkhemia. It is one of the largest educational medical institutions in Africa and the Middle East.
Ain Shams University is focused on blending theoretical and practical skills and on strengthening cooperation between scientific research centers regionally and internationally. The faculty of medicine serves more than 6000 undergraduate students over the 6 years of undergraduate teaching, and more than 1500 post-graduate students( Diplomas, Master of science in medicine & Medical Doctorate) in various academic and clinical departments. Not only one of the medical schools, but a free(non profitable) hospital serving more than one million parents annually.
Faculty of Medicine Educational Hospital(internal medicine & surgery) consists of an outpatient clinic and inpatient department. Both have approximately 3200 beds(in 1997), with more than 10,000 staff working in all departments and serving about 2,000,000 patients from all over the Egypt annually.
